—— One of the worst shows in the history of all shows... Concert +18
To summarize what will be discussed below,
First, the prolonged scenes.
Second, the encouragement of LGBTQIA+
Third, presenting ideas that have nothing to do with sports or the Olympics.
Fourth, the Blue Genie (Greek god) in the modern era.
Fifth, changing the flaming tradition.
On the other hand, there were some beautiful moments, such as the scene at the Eiffel Tower (which was also quite lengthy) and the dancing on the boat. Despite the considerable budget, it seemed like money was spent frivolously, without delivering any surprises or captivating the viewer.
For nearly two years, I had hoped to attend the opening, but today I'm grateful that I didn't. The ceremony began with a person carrying the olympic flame, and running for nearly four hours, with concealed face behind a mask, perhaps symbolizing anonymity or the unknown. They kept running relentlessly—across land, bridges, and rivers—until passing the flame (and this was just the first handover). Then scenes unfolded that made me think, "God help the cameraperson." Every location featured must be captured—on buildings, bridges, ships, and rooftops.
Aside from the unidentified masked figure, a solitary dancer wearing skirt shorts performs on one of the building rooftops. On the opposite side, a group of dancers engage in provocative movements on a water-covered bridge. Abruptly, the scene shifts to an unrelated portrayal of the French Revolution. And in one building, women dressed in red are seen at the windows, their hands carrying their heads, evoking the tragic image of Queen Marie Antoinette during her execution.
The depiction of bloody scene and focusing on the violent demise of Marie Antoinette rather than presenting her as a complex character. Their repetition of the revolution scene, I think, indicates their exaggeration of this event, as if no other country had carried out a revolution, neither before nor after them.
And all of this comes with a girl standing on a boat singing opera, and with all this the question comes to my mind: What are they trying to say? First, the show is about a global celebration of sports that is not limited to a specific country. Second, there are sweeter things that show the beautiful aspects of France, such as perfumes and fashion (well, it supposed to be, but in this show it was an expression of something else)
In this same scene, it cuts and shows another scene of a girl reading in the library and looking at another person (actually at the time I suspected he was gay) who was also reading and then he looked at her, so I said if he looks and likes her then he's straight. Suddenly a third person comes in and gives him a book. And the names of books indicated love. What a mockery of culture and knowledge. The camera returns to the unknown masked person running, then to Marie, then to these three people, and this continues for a few scenes.
To my astonishment, the three people, two boys and the girl, ran and laughed (I thought they were going to watch the celebration or participate in it, lol). But, we see them go up to a building and get intimately close to each other. They entered the apartment and they were all happy about what they were going to do... What is this, really, what is this decadence?
The foreign countries did began forcing their people to accept homosexuality and perversion, and now they have not stopped at this point, but have boldly encouraged the ideal of three-way intimacy. Do you know what this means to young people who are fond of sports and its valuable principles?
After this scene, the homosexuals go, the dancers go, and Marie Antoinette goes with them, and the unknown masked person stays and keeps on running and searching for the unknown, and with his persistence, he reaches - the end - no, no, not now. He reaches a bridge with musicians on it, and at the end of the bridge is a historical building from which a singer emerges singing and dancers dance, and during this, they all walk on a golden carpet, and the unknown masked person ignites this carpet and continues his escape, I mean running, searching for the source of the flame. Since the scenes were interconnected, we see girls and men hanging on a pole longer than the lamppost, moving in all directions, and suddenly a person is lying on a wire - if it were an electricity wire - tragedy would had happened.
I wonder, do they mean that they are like birds flying in the sky of creativity and art? - Maybe. The record continues a little, and we see statues emerging from boxes - if applied to athletes, it would be a beautiful gesture, but what happened was as strange as the rest of the ceremony - I mean what does the Olympics and sports have to do with a lawyer, activist, or writer, etc.
If this is Women's Day, then this scene would be in its place, but today is Olympic Day, noting that only one statue was of an athlete. As for the idea that the statues were of women only and that there was no male element in them, it also raises the question: What is the intention?!
As for the only positive aspect in this section, is the arrival of the Olympic teams in ships on the Seine, it was an innovative move. Yes, there were three or four teams in small boats and the rest of the teams in large boats. Is this due to the lack of ships or some other reason? I don't know. As these teams pass at the end of their route, we see a ferry carrying dancers welcoming the teams, and whenever a group comes, the dancers work.
Putting all of this is aside and coming to the fashion show, or in this case what was called a fashion show. Here the presence of homosexuals was greater, and we are astonished by the lifting of a cover, and from it comes out a blue genie with a yellow beard attached, wearing... singing and cheering on the fashion models who are also the dancers, and with his singing we see them embracing each other.
Shockingly, this scene was intended as “The Last Supper,” as the woman standing in the middle expresses (I ask forgiveness from Allah the Great) the Prophet of God and his word, Jesus. The gay people who stand around her with the only “child” are the apostles. As for the blue genie, he is the Greek god of wine.... What is the relationship between the Christianity, Greeks, homosexuality, crime, and sports?
Resembling of Jesus was a “woman” and along with the statues of women is clearly an indication of the feminist movement that they are keeping on promoting. — We then see a man embracing the only child. And I do not think that the presence of this child dancing among homosexuals has good intentions. Let us not forget that some recent trends in foreign countries are giving mental health excuses to those who have pedophile tendencies.
Away from all this, we see another ferry carrying dancers, and to be honest, their show was beautiful. Then we come to “Imagine” song, sung in English, and most of the songs were English. I think that there must be more of French songs presence. Also, this song scene was beautiful, and it was followed by the knight on the horse that crossing the river, and taking a long time. This horse represents the pale horse in the Book of Revelation, which says that there are 4 horses, each one responsible for destroying the earth and killing humans. As for the pale horse that appeared at the ceremony, it expresses - death and as for the pale color, it indicates diseases.
Then, arriving at the Eiffel Tower, which was a beautiful sight, and the rider arrives on a horse, that as if she is the same person who was on the horse, carrying the Olympic flag. But the rising of the flag was upside down! And it is clear that France organization of the ceremony is flawless, and it is better for France to be the last time organizing a worldwide ceremony. After singing the Olympic anthem and giving speeches that were also long, finally the unknown masked man arrives and comes out of the ground to give the flame to the player Zidane, and thinking that it is finally over, and to my surprise, Zidane gives the flame to another player, and then the player gets into a boat with other players and they go to another place carrying the flame and giving it to another player, this player runs and reaches the Louvre Museum and gives the flame to another player. They run and give the flame to two other players and run until they reach another player and light the up the flame!
Well, of course not. Rather, the last player lights the flame with two other players and they go to an air balloon. Finally, they light the flame and the balloon flies to the top, being attached to a rope to the ground.
However, with this balloon, they changed the customs and rituals of the Olympic flame, which had a historical sporting value, of how the flame was ignited. Some things must preserve their originality. And as for the large burning balloon in the sky, the question arises of its impact on the environment. They are the same ones who advocate for the environment and climate change. At the end of the concert, the only positive thing could be Celine Dion's singing.
As for the party designer, he is actually gay and wanted to make the party unconventional and express the spirit of young Paris. (As he said after peoples' reaction towards the opening)
I saw opinions about how legendary and wonderful this concert was, and no such a concert had happened before. The truth is that yes, such a show had never happened before, so it is true that it is dazzling, but with its triviality, decadence and criminality. They boldly broadcast everything that is wrong, silly and bloody.
For example, when you see women carrying their heads and their severed necks, you are in a horror movie, not in a sports opening show. Or when you see the gay intimate scenes, you are in a .... movie not a high-end sporting event, and putting all of this aside and the blue genie on another side, a representation of a Greek god of wine...
They insulted sports, values, religion, and above all else, they insulted themselves.
